Elegant and highly refined Italian Mid-Century sideboard designed by Vittorio Dassi, manufactured in Italy during the late 1950s to early 1960s. This piece perfectly embodies Dassi’s distinctive design language, characterized by sculptural proportions, refined material combinations, and meticulous attention to decorative detail.

The façade is organized into two harmonious sections. On the left, three drawers are embellished with the iconic black plastic grissinatura, composed of finely ribbed vertical profiles that became one of the most recognizable features of Dassi’s furniture during this period. Each drawer is fitted with elegant original brass ring pulls that enrich the composition with subtle decorative refinement.

The right-hand section features two large drawers with beautifully sculpted curved fronts veneered in richly figured wood. Their soft, organic profiles create a sophisticated contrast with the linear geometry of the cabinet, giving the piece an unmistakable architectural presence.

The cabinet stands on four slender black lacquered metal legs ending in original polished brass sabots, a refined detail that visually lightens the structure while emphasizing its elegant proportions.

A newly crafted lavender-colored glass top has been custom made and professionally installed, faithfully respecting the cabinet’s original design. The delicate lavender hue introduces a sophisticated chromatic accent that beautifully complements the warmth of the wood veneer, the black grissinatura fronts, and the polished brass details. This refined interplay of color, texture, and materials perfectly reflects the elegant aesthetic that distinguished Vittorio Dassi’s finest creations during the late 1950s.

The sideboard has undergone a complete professional restoration. All wooden surfaces have been carefully refinished using traditional shellac polishing techniques, the lacquered elements have been restored, the brass components professionally cleaned and polished, and the new custom-made lavender-colored glass top has been installed. The piece is presented in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use.
