Rare and highly sculptural chandelier designed by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, Italy, distinguished by its extraordinary composition of large curved glass panels, brass structure and multiple sculptural light fittings.

The chandelier is conceived as an architectural arrangement of sweeping, overlapping glass elements radiating from a central brass structure. Each glass panel is individually shaped into a pronounced curve, creating a fluid silhouette reminiscent of leaves, wings or petals. The composition changes dramatically according to the viewing angle, giving the fixture a remarkable sense of movement and depth.

The substantial glass elements display a subtle green-gray coloration, beautifully emphasized by their dark finished edges. Their generous scale and complex curvature demonstrate the sophisticated approach to glass that became one of the defining characteristics of Pietro Chiesa's work for Fontana Arte.
Beneath the glass structure, numerous light sources are arranged around the central body and surrounded by sculptural, petal-like elements in a light-colored finish. These organic forms introduce an additional layer to the composition, contrasting with the transparency of the glass and the warm metallic tones of the brass.

The chandelier is suspended from a long brass stem terminating in an elegant ceiling canopy. The brass central structure remains deliberately visible through the transparent glass, making the mechanical construction itself part of the overall design.

Particularly impressive when viewed from below, the chandelier reveals an intricate three-dimensional composition of overlapping curved glass planes, radiating supports and sculptural light fittings. From this perspective, the fixture takes on an almost floral appearance.

When illuminated, the multiple bulbs produce a warm and atmospheric light. Their reflections travel across the curved glass surfaces and brass components, accentuating the transparency, depth and complex geometry of the chandelier. When switched off, the sculptural quality of the glass becomes more prominent, allowing the fixture to function almost as a suspended glass sculpture.

The chandelier exemplifies Pietro Chiesa's sophisticated integration of glass, metal and light for Fontana Arte, transforming a functional lighting fixture into a significant architectural and decorative object.
Its substantial scale and strong visual presence make it particularly appropriate for a large dining room, entrance hall, living room, gallery or other important interior.
