A rare and highly architectural executive desk designed by Arturo Roversi and produced in Italy during the 1950s.
Crafted in richly figured walnut, this remarkable freestanding desk showcases Roversi’s refined approach to form and proportion. The large rectangular top is supported by elegant sculptural trestle legs connected by an open shelving structure, creating a striking visual lightness while maintaining excellent functionality.
Designed to be viewed from all sides, the desk features a beautifully finished reverse side and integrated open storage compartments, making it ideal for placement at the center of a room. The dynamic geometric base and clean modernist lines exemplify the sophisticated craftsmanship and innovation that characterized Italian design in the post-war period.
One drawer bears the designer’s surname, “Roversi,” incised into the wood, providing a valuable period attribution.
Professionally restored and refinished, the desk retains the warmth and character of its original walnut veneers while presenting beautifully for contemporary interiors.
An exceptional and uncommon example of mid-century Italian design, suitable for collectors and connoisseurs of important twentieth-century furniture.
